Kaštel Novi is less than 350m to the east - a large square fort with a tower and a large harbour protected to the south for local fishermen and small boats. Here the moat is also filled in and the drawbridge is no longer necessary.
The fortress was built in 1512 by the Venetian Cipiko
landowners, who grew grapes here. Today the fortress is part of a
hotel complex.
The harbour has 2.1m water depth at the head of the inner side of the breakwater, here you can moor with mooring lines.
