Description

Lastovo is a medieval settlement in the form of an amphitheatre and the only settlement on the island that is not by the sea. It is surrounded by hills and fields. The family houses from the 15th and 16th centuries are decorated with Lastovo "sulari" and richly decorated "fumari" (chimneys), which were a status symbol of the family and today have become the trademark of Lastovo. Also worth seeing are the many stone steps in the footpaths of the village, which run around the church like a spiral staircase.

 A picturesque hiking trail leads in 10 min from Lastovo to the viewpoint at the former fortress on the mountain Glavica. Where once stood the prehistoric fortress, the city-state of Dubrovnik built a castle, today here stands a weather station. 
But the perfect vantage point remains - a magnificent view  over the bays of Lucica and Mihajla, the Lastovo channel and the island of Korcula.
